These terms govern your use of the Sepia iOS app and the sepia.film website (together, "Sepia," "we," or "the Service"). By using Sepia, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, and at least 13 years old. If you use Sepia on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
You can sign in with Sign in with Apple, Google, or an email and password, or join a film as a guest without an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Sepia offers a free tier and one-time, per-event purchases priced by participant count, plus an optional unlimited-shots add-on. There is no subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's terms, and refunds are handled through your Apple account. Prices may vary by region.
Sepia uses your camera to capture photos and scan invite QR codes, and your photo library to save photos and QR codes or to choose a cover or profile photo. These features require your permission, which you can manage in your device settings. Any notifications are optional and used only to tell you about activity in your films.
You and your guests own the photos you create. You grant us a limited, worldwide license to host, store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service, for example to deliver a film to invited participants and reveal photos at your chosen time. As a host, you are responsible for the guests you invite and for obtaining any consent required to photograph and share images of them.
Sepia relies on third-party providers to operate, including Apple (Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases) and Google (Google Sign-In and Firebase for database, storage, and authentication). Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms.
You obtain the Sepia app through the Apple App Store. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its content, but Apple is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce them. The app is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content in Sepia infringes your copyright, contact us at inandha97@gmail.com with enough detail to identify the work and the allegedly infringing material, and we will respond as required by law.
Your use of Sepia is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.
We may add, change, or discontinue features. We aim to preserve your existing films, but we may modify the Service as needed to operate and improve it.
Sepia is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or content, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these terms or the rights of others.
You may stop using Sepia at any time and delete your content or account. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, such as content licenses already granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity, will continue to apply.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. You may not assign these terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger or sale. These terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. We will note material changes in the app or on this page, with the "last updated" date revised accordingly. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
